Here’s everything you need to know about Pixar and Firefox’s collaboration and how to join in on the fun.
How to Theme Firefox Around Pixar’s Turning Red
Turning Red is a Pixar film that releases on Disney+ on March 11, 2022. It follows the story of Mei Lee, a teenager struggling to find the balance between her obedient home and the chaos of life. When her emotions get the better of her, she turns into a giant red panda.
Since the red panda is Firefox’s mascot, it makes sense that the browser would team up with Pixar. You can check out what Firefox offers on its Turning Red landing page.
Here you can enter your email to win a free month of Disney+ (since Disney+ doesn’t offer free trials, this is a great way to test the streaming service), enter your first initial and star sign to generate your boy band name, and admire art from Helen Li, an Asian-American illustrator.
You can also theme the desktop version of Firefox around characters from Turning Red. From the landing page, select Get Turning Red Theme and choose your character. For example, you can go red for the panda, orange for Mei Lee, and blue for her mother.
With your chosen theme selected, click Save. To change this in the future, click the three horizontal lines in the top-right of the browser, click Add-ons and themes, and choose an alternative theme.
You Can Be Different With Firefox
According to Mozilla, Firefox is your place to be different; that’s certainly true when you consider that the majority of folk opt for Google Chrome. While this campaign is unlikely to convince you to switch to Firefox if you’re using another browser, it’s certainly a bit of light-hearted fun.
